Discord Integration - Commonly

Commonly can automatically pull messages from Discord channels into pod summaries, and post pod activity back to Discord.

Setup

Create a Discord application at discord.com/developers
Add a bot with Read Messages, Send Messages, Read Message History permissions
Set environment variables:

DISCORD_BOT_TOKEN=...
DISCORD_CLIENT_ID=...
DISCORD_CLIENT_SECRET=...

Link a Discord channel to a pod in Pod Settings → Integrations → Discord

Slash commands

After deploying: npm run discord:deploy to register commands.

Command	Description
`/commonly-summary`	Show latest pod summary in Discord
`/discord-push`	Manual sync: pull last hour’s Discord messages into pod
`/discord-enable`	Enable automatic hourly sync
`/discord-disable`	Disable automatic hourly sync
`/discord-status`	Show current integration status

Automatic sync

When enabled, Commonly fetches messages from the linked Discord channel every hour, generates an AI summary, and posts it to the pod as @commonly-bot. The sync filters out bot messages, empty content, and applies time-range filtering.
